Welcome to SPPL's Learning 2.0 program & blog. Chances are if you've found your way here you're either:a member of SPPL's staff who's participating in the Library's Learning 2.0 program
or
interested in learning about and playing around (yes, playing is allowed in libraries) with some new Web 2.0 tools that will help you expand your information literacy toolbox.
Either way, we're glad you're here!
Learning 2.0 is an online learning program that encourages staff to learn more about some of the emerging technologies on the web that are changing the way people, society and libraries access information and communicate with each other.
Over the course of the next few weeks, this site will highlight “23 Things” and discovery exercises to help you become familiar with blogging, RSS news feeds, tagging, wikis, podcasting, online applications, and video and image hosting sites.
To familiarize yourself with this project, be sure to read the About page. The Frequently Asked Questions list there should answer most of your questions about this program. If not, please add your question to the FAQ page as a comment.
Fasten your seat belts, grab your mouse and get ready for a discovery adventure… and remember, it's OK to play in the library and have fun!
And if you are inspired to apply any of what you learn to something at the library, well that's just a bonus!
Coming up next: The journey begins! Tips on nurturing your learning process.

I want to thank John and Jenny for kicking off this adventure in such a great way at staff day. You set the tone for what will be a fun few weeks of discovery for all who participate! I just finished my first two "things." Who's with me?!
I'm on your heels Melanie! I just finished my first 2 "things" as well. Looking forward to completing the next 21.
I am so excited to learn more about all of this. And not have my teen's eyes roll into the back of his head! I am looking forward to a great adventure!
I have blogged a bit in the past, but it is fun to be able to participate with my co-workers!
I'm with Carol on the teen thing!

I'm going to take the plunge here, too. A lot of this stuff (or at least how to make it useful) is new to me, too. Hey, that gives me an idea for a blog title...
